Schedule

Temple Shalom services reflect our dual affiliation with both the reform and conservative movements.  Our Shabbat and Holiday evening services follow the reform tradition and use the Gates of Prayer siddurim.  Our Shabbat and Holiday morning and daytime services follow the conservative tradition, using the Sim Shalom siddurim.  Services are usually led by Rabbi Mel Glazer with assistance frm lay members of the congregation.  Guests are welcome at every service, and no reservation is needed.  (You may wish to call the Temple office the day before to be sure there is no change.)

Friday Evening Shabbat Services:  Temple Shalom has a rotating service format for Friday evening Shabbat Services.

The first two Fridays of each month begin at 5:30 p.m. with "Oneg First", a light nosh, followed by Kabbalat Shabbat Services at 6:00.  (The second Friday night service is geared to families with very young children.)   We hope this will allow you to enjoy services and then go home to a relaxed dinner with your family.

The remaining Friday night services begin at 8:00 p.m. and are followed by a traditional oneg.  (The third Friday will be a Reform Torah service.)  This later service is designed to allow our members to have an early dinner and enjoy a more traditional Reform Friday night experience.

Shabbat Morning Services:  These services start at 9:30 AM and consist of all of the usual components.  Each Shabbat, the services are followed by a Kiddush buffet lunch.  Periodically, a Bar or Bat Mitzvah will be held on Shabbat.

Weekday Minyans:  Every Thursday morning, a conservative service is held and includes reading the Torah.  It starts at 7:00 AM, concludes by 8:00 AM, and is followed by a continental breakfast for everyone present.

Holiday Services:  While services are held in observance of all holidays, not all of the traditional days are observed.  Please check the calendar to see the dates when services will be held.  Yizkor is recited during Sukkot, Pesach, and Shavuot on the last day that there is a service.
