Donations can be made in honor of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, wedding or other special celebration such as a new baby, school graduation or other special occasion in honor of a family member or friend. Contributions are also a very appropriate way to memorialize a loved one or observe a Yahrzeit.
Donations can be made to the General Fund of Temple Shalom or to one of the special funds or endowments noted. Your donation will be acknowledged with a card to the tribute recipient.
Temple Funds
- General Fund - for operating and other expenses as needed for the Temple's general operation
- Building Fund - maintenance of the Temple building and grounds
- Cemetery Fund - maintenance and general expenses of the Sons of Israel Cemetery
- Education Discretionary Fund - support of non-budget Religious School and Preschool needs, including discretionary funds for the Religious School Director
- Education Scholarship Fund - provides scholarships to children in need for Religious School and Preschool
- Future Building Fund - for purchase, modification and maintenance of a new building
- Hashanim Hatovot (Senior Program) - providing for operating and general expenses for the Senior Program
- Library Fund - for the maintenance of the Temple Shalom Einstein Library
- Mikvah Fund - for operation and maintenance of the Temple Mikvah
- PJ Library Fund - for support of the PJ Library Jewish Family enrichment program
- Prayer Book Fund - for purchase or replacement of prayer books and chumashim
- Rabbi's Discretionary Fund - for assistance to members of the Jewish community or others and non-budgeted expenses as deemed appropriate by the Rabbi
- Social Action Fund - for assistance to Jewish individuals in temporary financial difficulty
- Tallit Fund - for relacement and repair of tallesim for Temple use
- Torah Fund - for maintenance and/or replacement of the Torahs
Sisterhood Funds
- Bereavement Fund - Providing fruit plates and other trays to families of Temple Shalom who have suffered a loss
- Flower Fund - Flowers for the Temple bimah on the High Holy Days
- Kiddush Fund - Underwrite expense related to Kiddush luncheons
- Kitchen Fund - Purchase of equipment for the Temple kitchens
- Oneg Fund - Underwrite expense related to Friday night Onegs
- Roz White Torah Fund - Sent to the USCJ Torah fund for Rabbinic Scholarships
- Youth Scholarship Fund - Scholarships for youth and teens to attend Jewish camps and/or Jewish education and enrichment programs in Israel
- YES Fund - Youth, Education and Special projects - a UAHC Fund
Other Auxiliary Funds
- Men's Club General Fund - for general operating expenses with Men's Club programs
- PTO General Fund - for support of PTO operations and programming
