Michele Campbell

Michele Campbell is the Executive Director of Temple Shalom, joining the organization in 2011 as the Temple's first Executive Director. Michele is responsible for the non-clergy operations of Temple Shalom. Michele is a former hospital executive who ran a management consulting company for many years, specializing in communication, high performance teams and leadership development. She earned a B.A. from Yale University in organizational development and an M.S. from Harvard University in management.

Michele is originally from New York, lived in Seattle for many years where she built a volunteer community and moved to Colorado Springs in 2009. She recently became a guest lecturer at Colorado College, leading workshops for students in leadership programs. Michele has two children, Lauren and Ian. Her daughter is a medical student at the University of Washington and her son is a student at Carnegie Mellon University.

Elayna Rathmann

Elayna Rathmann is Director of Congregational Learning and Programming at Temple Shalom where she channels her devotion to family and lifelong learning into the Temple's educational programs. Elayna grew up in Granger, IN where she attended Sinai Synagogue and the South Bend Hebrew Day School. She is a BBYO Life Member and former Morah for the KIO Region. Her love of learning and warmth for people led her to pursue a career as an educator. She graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and minors in both Reading Education and Science Instruction, K-8.

Elayna received her Masters degree in Education from The University of California, Berkeley with an additional Reading Specialist credential. Her focus expanded with her work as a Professional Development Specialist. She taught Masters level classes at Chapman University and embraced adult education and lifelong learning.
